Chris Peterson constructs teapots by hand. The angular and geometric forms are precisely constructed from smooth slabs of clay. The surface treatments enhance with layers of texture and color. The aim is to do more with less. American designer Paul Rand stated: “Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated." The intent is to play at the intersection of form and function, presenting clay work that invites the user to interact and initiate a relationship with the object.
